Friar Gregory Spuhler, OFM, CONV, Director of Outreach and Pastoral Care Ministry
Friar Gregory Spuhler, raised in Pennsauken, NJ, is one of five siblings and has been a Franciscan Friar, Brother for 18 years. He was employed by St. Andrew’s in 2014 prior to being assigned to Brooklyn, NY and then reassigned to Seaside Heights, NJ.
While in Seaside he assisted senior friars and volunteered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s food pantry. Since funding was scarce for the food pantry he organized bake sales. A local baker allowed him access to his equipment for making, baking and selling cookies at local churches. Friar Greg would like to organize a bake sale for our students and adults who enjoy teamwork and baking. We could offer our baked goods to our parishioners for a donation and donate the proceeds to our student activities.
His fulltime position as the Director of Outreach and Pastoral Care Ministry entail being liaison and coordinator for all Social Action Ministries as well as collaborating with other employees and ministries to promote the mission of our parish.
He enjoys participating with volunteers to serve others. He has a propensity for working well with people, with individuals and as a team. He has developed gifts of understanding and compassion mixed with practicality that keeps him grounded and balanced. On the lighter side he likes to have fun and encourages others to do the same.
