Umbrella of Care and Hope

Pope Francis calls us to rediscover our vocation as citizens of our own nations and of the entire world.

  • He summons us to be builders of a new social bond and to be aware that the existence of each and every individual is deeply tied to that of others: life is not simply time that passes; life is a time for interactions.
  • We are called to rebuild our hurting world, to form a community of men and women who identify with the vulnerability of others, who reject a society of exclusion, and who act instead as neighbors, lifting up and rehabilitating the fallen for the sake of the common good.
On our behalf as U.S. Catholics, Catholic Relief Services supports hundreds of transformative projects in more than 100 countries around the world. Our work is not built around one idea or one size fits all approach; we tailor our response to need and the people we serve.
Catholic Charities USA

Within the United States, Catholic Charities USA provides services to people in need, advocates for justice in social structures, and calls the entire church and other people of good will to do the same.

In North Carolina, Catholic Charities welcomes individuals and families of all faiths or no faith tradition, living in the 54 most eastern counties in North Carolina to participate in services. Click here to learn more.

Why is all of this important?

Catholic disciples on mission are called to put Two Feet of Love in Action! This foundational tool describes two distinct, but complementary, ways we can put the Gospel in action in response to God’s love: social justice (addressing systemic, root causes of problems that affect many people) and charitable works (short-term, emergency assistance for individuals).

Catholic Relief Services walks with two feet on our behalf all over the world!
