Bereavement & Grief Ministry

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.”

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Coffee and Conversation – Daytime Grief Group

The holiday season can be especially difficult for those who are grieving. You are not alone, and we are here to support one another. The loss of a loved one can be a difficult and painful experience. None of your feelings – sadness, anger, fear, doubt – are too much for God to handle. And, no one has to manage their grief all alone.

Our Coffee and Conversation group meets in the CARE center on the second Wednesday of every month following the 9:00a.m. Mass. We usually begin at 9:45. All who are grieving are welcome.

This group provides a safe and encouraging place to receive support from others who know what it is like to lose someone you love. This group is a blend of sharing, social time, and topics in grief. For more information about grief support, please contact us at .

New Evening Grief Group Starting

We are beginning a monthly, evening group for people grieving. Know that you do not have to manage your grief alone.

This group will provide a safe and encouraging place to receive support from others who know what it is like to experience loss. The group will blend sharing, social time, and topics in grief. All experiencing grief are welcome.

Join us either in-person or on Zoom on the third Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. To register, please contact Suzanne Rives at suzannerives@yahoo.com or 919-946-3196. A Zoom link will be emailed to those requesting it.

Loss can be a difficult and painful experience. None of your feelings – sadness, anger, fear, doubt – are too much for God to handle.

Stephen Ministry

Some people in the grief process may not be ready to share in a group setting and may benefit from the individual support offered by a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers are members of our parish who receive many hours of special training to provide one-to-one Christian care to people experiencing challenges in life. They meet faithfully to pray, listen, care, support, and encourage their care receiver. Learn more about Stephen Ministry here.
