Touching Hearts

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples – if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35

Through the love and
compassionate mercy of Christ,
this ministry seeks to share faithful hope by loving others.

“Encourage one another and build one another up.”
1 Thess. 5:11

There are four purposes of this ministry:

  1. To reach the elderly and vulnerable who are lonely or sad with inspirational and cheerful correspondence, and to assure them of our support and prayers.
  2. To seek the names and addresses of those elderly above  who may be isolated and would appreciate and welcome being contacted through mail with words of encouragement and love.
  3. To seek donations of friendly greeting cards (blank or pre-written), drawings from children, prayer cards, inspirational stickers, and anything that hopefully would bring a smile to the recipients’ faces!
  4. To seek donations of hygiene or recreational items to supplement several assisted living facilities in need.

There are two areas of Concentration in “Touching Hearts”

  1. Purely correspondence to our parishioners in assisted living facilities as well as to those we are notified of in other living arrangements or situations wishing for some cheer.
  2. Volunteering time and talent to assist at several assisted living facilities in our parish’s area, and supplementing their needed hygiene supplies and other helpful items all throughout the year and then additionally at Christmas (Fluffy Socks Drive 😊) by our parishioners’ generous donations.
